Cover Supervisors Required – Secondary Schools in Bolton and Bury

Full-Time and Flexible Positions Available

Secondary schools across Bolton and Bury are seeking committed and professional Cover Supervisors to support their teaching teams. These positions offer an excellent opportunity for individuals who are confident in leading groups of students and who wish to contribute positively to the learning environment within a secondary school setting.

Role Overview

Cover Supervisors are responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of the regular classroom teacher. All lesson materials and resources are provided; the primary duties involve ensuring students remain focused, follow the set work, and meet the expectations of the school’s behaviour policies. Daily rates starting at £90 a day for new educators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson content to students in Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Upholding high standards of behaviour and classroom conduct
  • Providing support to students to ensure engagement with the lesson
  • Maintaining a calm, orderly learning atmosphere
  • Recording any relevant information or feedback for the returning teacher

Candidate Requirements

Schools are looking for individuals who demonstrate:

  • Confidence in leading and managing a classroom
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professionalism and the ability to act as a positive role model
  • Adaptability to cover a range of subjects and year groups
  • Previous experience with young people (e.g., tutoring, coaching, youth work) is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
