Taunton
Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel is working with a secondary school in the Taunton area to recruit a Cover Supervisor, with the opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate. This role would suit a fully qualified teacher looking for a role with reduced planning and marking responsibilities, or an experienced Cover Supervisor seeking a stable, long-term opportunity within one school.

This is a varied and rewarding position, supporting the day-to-day running of the school by providing high-quality classroom supervision and ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absence.

The role will include:

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-set lesson plans

  • Maintaining a calm, purposeful learning environment

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged and complete work set

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes

  • Building positive relationships with students and staff

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a fully qualified teacher (QTS) or an experienced Cover Supervisor

  • Has strong classroom management skills

  • Is confident working with secondary-aged pupils

  • Is reliable, professional and adaptable

  • Has a positive approach to supporting student learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
