Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a secondary school in the Taunton area to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain classroom experience in a supportive school environment, whether you are an aspiring teacher, an ECT, or an experienced educator seeking a non-teaching role.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absence and ensuring students remain engaged with set work.

The role will involve:

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson plans

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies

  • Supporting students to stay on task and complete assigned work

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress

  • Building positive relationships with students and staff

  • Supporting the wider school team as needed

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young people (education or similar settings)

  • Be confident managing a classroom environment

  • Have strong communication and organisational skills

  • Be reliable, flexible and professional

  • Hold a degree or relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
