 Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (B36 Birmingham Area)

Location: Mainstream Secondary Schools, B36 Area, Birmingham
Salary: £95 - £130 per day (Dependent on experience and school)
Contract Type: Temporary / Casual / Supply

About the Role:
We are currently seeking confident, reliable, and experienced Cover Supervisors to work across a range of mainstream secondary schools in the B36 Birmingham area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in dynamic school environments and are passionate about supporting student learning and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students remain engaged.

Maintaining excellent behaviour management and classroom discipline in line with school policies.

Providing clear instructions and support to students, ensuring they remain on task and complete assigned work.

Follow pre-set lesson plans accurately, delivering content confidently.

Liaising effectively with school staff to understand lesson requirements and student needs.

Person Specification:

Previous experience as a cover supervisor or working in schools is highly desirable.

Strong classroom presence with excellent behaviour management skills.

Ability to remain calm, confident, and authoritative in a classroom setting.

Reliable and professional approach with a flexible attitude towards work.

Must hold an enhanced DBS certificate (child workforce) and be registered on the DBS Update Service.

Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students and staff.
