Do you have aspirations of becoming a secondary school teacher but don't know where to start?

Are you looking to gain school based experience as a cover supervisor to support a PGCE application?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large, mixed secondary school in Bury who require a cover supervisor to join their support team as soon as possible. As a cover supervisor, you will be required to cover lessons on a flexible day to day basis, in the absence of the class teacher due to short term sickness and internal training days. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in secondary schools, taking full classes as a unqualified teacher!

Responsibilities of a cover supervisor will include:

  • Day to day lesson cover at a secondary school in Bury - ASAP
  • Deliver pre-set work to a class of pupils in the event of short term teacher absence
  • Covering a range of KS3 and KS4 lessons so some knowledge of the core subjects is desirable
  • Ensuring pupils remain on task to complete the pre set work

The successful cover supervisor will join a reputable secondary school in Bury who offer fantastic support to incoming support staff who are looking at going into teaching. As a result, the role of cover supervisor would be best suited to graduates who are considering a career as a secondary school teacher.

Overview of cover supervisor role:

  • Flexible cover supervisor work - work around your own availability
  • Earn up to ÂŁ300 per week, paid on a weekly basis
  • Great opportunity to gain experience working in a secondary school prior to completing a PGCE

If you graduate or have aspirations of becoming a teacher and are looking for flexible cover supervisor work in a secondary school local to you, please send your CV via the link below. For more information on the role, please call the Manchester Secondary Office.
