Classroom Support Assistant

Support Assistant - Portsmouth:

Teaching Personnel are looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work with Primary and Secondary Special Educational Needs children who have varied learning and physical needs. You will be assisting the class teacher to carry out lesson plans, while supporting the children's learning and development. Getting involved with all class activities and making sure that the children reach their full potential.

About the candidate:

- You will need to have previous experience working in an SEN environment

- Be flexible and adaptable to the needs and requirements of the school and its pupils

- Demonstrate the ability to engage with pupils at all levels

- Have a minimum of GCSE grades A - C in Maths and English

About the school:

Pupils are aged between 2-18 years, and range from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4. They have Complex Learning Difficulties to include:

- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties

- Severe Learning Difficulties

- Lower end Moderate Learning Difficulties

- Speech and Language

You will need to get involved with the pupils and staff from the get-go, and a genuine interest in Special Needs is a must. Cover is required 08:30 - 15:30 each day, and you will be welcome to spend a trial day at the school, upon completion of a vetting process.
