Location: Pontypool
Pay: Starting from M2 (£172.98 per day), paid to scale for long-term assignments.
Start date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term supply contract until January 2027.
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Pontypool

This is an excellent opportunity to inspire pupils and bring Geography to life through engaging lessons covering physical, human and environmental topics. Applications are welcomed from experienced Geography Teachers, Early Career Teachers and teachers returning to the profession.

The role

As a Geography Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Teach a range of physical and human Geography topics.

  • Support pupils preparing for assessments and GCSE examinations.

  • Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.

  • Adapt lessons for pupils with different learning needs and abilities.

  • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.

  • Contribute to the wider work of the Humanities department.

What we are looking for

The successful Geography Teacher will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching Geography within a secondary school.

  • Have strong subject and curriculum knowledge.

  • Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour-management skills.

  • Be reliable, adaptable and committed to pupil progress.

  • Be available for a long-term position from September 2026.
