⭐ Classroom Lead

Location: Newport, South Wales
Pay Rate: £110–£120 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: September Start – End of Academic Year (Immediate start for the right applicant)

Teaching Personnel is working with a welcoming secondary school in Newport to recruit a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a future career in teaching or education who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

⭐ About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.

All lessons are fully planned, meaning your role is to supervise learning, maintain classroom expectations, and ensure students remain engaged with their work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a variety of subjects
  • Supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Encouraging participation and engagement in learning
  • Supporting pupils to complete tasks and meet lesson objectives

No teaching qualification is required for this role.

✅ Requirements

  • Experience working with young people is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence leading groups and maintaining professional boundaries
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • EWC Registration (or willingness to register)
  • Must be aged 18 or over
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting students
