Year 4 Class Teacher

Location: Preston
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Daily Rate: £120 – £150 (experience dependent)

A reputable and welcoming primary school in Preston is seeking to appoint a committed and knowledgeable Year 4 Teacher from September 2025. This is a full-time position covering the full class teacher role, including planning, delivery, and assessment responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience teaching in Key Stage 2, with a strong grasp of the Year 4 curriculum and a proven ability to foster a positive and purposeful learning environment. You will work closely with colleagues across the school to ensure a consistent and engaging educational experience for pupils.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent and relevant experience in KS2 (Year 4 experience desirable)
  • A reflective practitioner with strong classroom management skills
  • Committed to pupil progress and inclusive practice

Applications are welcome from ECTs with relevant experience and a confident approach to teaching in upper Key Stage 2.

Pay & Agency Worker Regulations (AWR)

The role is paid at £120 to £150 per day (dependent on experience) for the first 12 weeks.
After this period, AWR applies — meaning you are entitled to the same pay and working conditions as a permanent teacher at the school. This includes equal pay, working hours, access to CPD opportunities, and inclusion in school policies and procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
