A committed and inclusive primary school in Rumney, Cardiff is seeking a strong, compassionate, and experienced Class Teacher to take on a challenging but rewarding class. You will be joining a school that understands the importance of well-being, collaboration, and trauma-informed practice, and you will be fully supported by leadership, teaching assistants, and external agencies.


The Role:

  • Teach a class with a higher-than-average level of behavioural and emotional needs.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with a range of learning abilities and social challenges.

  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced adverse life circumstances.

  • Work closely with the school’s ALNCo, wellbeing lead, and external professionals to create a structured, nurturing classroom.

  • Implement consistent routines and strategies to support emotional regulation, learning, and inclusion.


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be an experienced and confident primary teacher (NQTs considered with strong placement references).

  • Be skilled in managing behaviour with positivity, empathy, and clear boundaries.

  • Have experience working with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

  • Be passionate about inclusion, resilience, and restorative approaches to learning.

  • Be able to stay calm under pressure and lead with consistency and care.

  • Be a team player who values collaboration and support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
