Exciting Opportunity for a Chemistry Teacher in Durham (DH1) – Start April 2025
Are you a Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT) or an Early Careers Teacher (ECT) with a passion for Chemistry? Our client school in Durham (DH1) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Chemistry teacher to join their team in April 2025. Position Details:
- Role: Chemistry Teacher
- Pay: To scale £162.31 to £251.71 per day (MPS/UPS)
- Contract: Full-Time
- Start Date: April 2025
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry with an understanding of the broader Science curriculum
- Excellent behaviour management skills to maintain a productive learning environment
- A child-only DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Two professional references from recent employment
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Chemistry lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Plan, mark, and assess work to support student progress
- Ensure strong behaviour management in the classroom to create a focused learning environment
- Supervise practical experiments with a focus on student safety
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider school community
