Role and Responsibilities:

  • Chemistry Teacher
  • Starting January 2020
  • Teaching KS3 Chemistry as a subject specialist
  • Teaching IGCSE Chemistry at KS4
  • Development and improvement of Chemistry resources within the department
  • Willingness to participate in the school's extra-curricular programme

The School:

Located in Cheshire East, just off the A34, this high-achieving school prides itself on ensuring each pupil is challenged and excels academically by offering a wide and varied curriculum. In addition to the high expectations in the classroom, the school provides a rich array of extra-curricular opportunities to provide its pupils with a fully rounded educational experience.

The school's curriculum involves teaching KS3 Science as three distinct subjects, with subject specialists teaching each discipline. That means that as a Chemistry Teacher, you will only have to teach your specialism right the way through from Y7 upwards. However, for the right candidate, there may be opportunity to teach an additional science if there was a desire to do so. At KS4, the school follows the IGCSE curriculum and offers both dual award and separate sciences. A Chemistry position at this school gives opportunity to truly delve into the intricacies of the subject and to deliver your passion for teaching science.

Why:

Boasting state-of-the-art facilities and fully equipped laboratories, this Chemistry role is fully supported by team of two dedicated science technicians overseeing well stocked prep rooms and delivering practical preparation assistance.

The role is paid in line with your scale point on the main or upper teacher pay scales and the science department is exceptionally welcoming and vibrant; it is a fantastic opportunity to further your career. With regular CPD delivered and encouraged, with further options available directly through Teaching Personnel, coupled with transparent career progression opportunities, this Chemistry Teacher role has everything you would want from a new position.

The Essentials:

  • Must be available for full time work from January 2020
  • Must have QTS in the UK - both experienced teachers and NQTs are welcome to apply
  • Must have suitable school-based references
  • Must be willing and able to apply for a fully enhanced DBS certificate
