School Caretaker
Location: CF10, Cardiff
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 10 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
We are recruiting a School Caretaker on behalf of a vibrant and culturally diverse primary school in the CF10 area of Cardiff.
This is a part-time position suited to a reliable and proactive individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
The role would suit a reliable and trustworthy individual looking for a small number of consistent weekly hours.

Opening the school site each morning

Closing and securing the site each evening

Locking buildings and gates
-
Ensuring the site is secure before leaving

Reporting any issues or concerns to school leadership
Liaising with contractors working on site

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
-
Be reliable, organised and able to work independently
-
Have experience in caretaking, site management, maintenance or a similar role
-
Have a flexible approach to work
-
Take pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
-
Be able to respond to occasional additional hours if required
Working Hours
This role requires:
-
1 hour in the morning (to open the site)
-
1 hour in the evening (to close and secure the site)
-
Monday to Friday
Safeguarding
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
