Teaching Personnel
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Tower Hamlets, Islington, Newham and Hackney. We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants with a CACHE Level 3 qualification to join schools on a full-time basis.
Our partner schools are committed to providing outstanding educational experiences for all pupils and are looking for candidates who demonstrate patience, empathy, professionalism and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
Please note: A CACHE Level 3 qualification (or equivalent Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is an essential requirement for this role. Applicants who do not hold the required qualification will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Learning & Development
- Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 to achieve their learning objectives.
- Deliver targeted interventions and small group support sessions.
- Assist the class teacher in preparing engaging learning activities and resources.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback where appropriate.
- Support children with varying educational and behavioural needs.
Classroom Support
- Promote a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Encourage pupil participation, independence and confidence.
- Assist with classroom organisation and resource management.
- Support pupils during lessons, break times and educational activities.
Communication & Relationships
- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and wider school staff.
- Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community.
Safeguarding & Wellbeing
- Promote the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all children.
- Follow school safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
- Support children with personal care requirements where required.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
SEND Support
- Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs when required.
- Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
- Support children with SEND, SEMH and other additional needs.
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
Essential Requirements
- CACHE Level 3 qualification (or equivalent Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Previous experience working with children within a school or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive, proactive and professional attitude.
- Genuine passion for supporting children's education and development.
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
- Experience delivering interventions in literacy and numeracy.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and EYFS framework.
- Behaviour management experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
