BSL Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant specialising in BSL?

Are you looking for a new role in the Scunthorpe area?

I work with a Virtual School in and around Scunthorpe who are looking for Teaching Assistants who have excellent experience working with children with hearing impairments and who use BSL in their daily routines.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be experienced in supporting the students within their classes, either within a group or on a 1:1 basis with one student you are assigned to, and help them to communicate and understand the class work. You will also be expected to work with teachers to arrange lesson plans in advance as well as helping the child move around the setting in a safe and calm manner.

As a candidate, you will be qualified in BSL up to level 2 as a minimum and have some experience using it in a work capacity.

We would also prefer applicants to have some experience either with special educational needs, childcare or education and are familiar with supporting in one of these areas.

All applicants MUST have a child only DBS which is registered on the update service or be willing to obtain one via Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
