Blackburn School seeking Passionate Primary Teacher
A large primary school situated in the heart of Blackburn town centre are seeking an engaging and hard working Class Teacher to cover a long-term vacancy within school, which has arisen due to a recent resignation. Consequently, there is potential for a temporary to permanent contract.
The role will be based in a Key Stage 2 class, working alongside a highly qualified and supportive Teaching Assistant. Behaviour of the pupils is good and is continuously improving, with the support of parents and a successful behaviour management policy. The school aim to deliver a creative, skill-based curriculum that is exciting and engaging for the children and provides a purpose for their learning. It has been specifically designed to help the children develop the skills required for effective learning and skills for life.

The school is a larger than average-sized primary school. A high proportion of the pupils who attend the school are from ethnic minority groups with a large percentage being disadvantaged. An ability to plan engaging learning experiences in line with the school's creative curriculum, with clear learning objectives in mind, is essential to the role. Consistently high expectations of attainment and behaviour, along with an ability to develop positive relationships with the children based upon mutual respect, are also extremely important. Due to the nature of the post, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the wider community of the school, including meeting parents and delivering a weekly afterschool club.
