Behaviour support assistant required at Primary in South Sheffield

  • Behaviour support assistant required
  • Team Teach or MAPA training desirable but not essential
  • Full time opportunity

An excellent and challenging opportunity has come about in a welcoming and friendly primary school in Sheffield S11 offering one to one support to a child with BESD and mild learning difficulties in a Year 4 class. The school is a two form entry primary school in a charming area of Sheffeild boasting excellent transport links and a supportive and warm staff team.

Your new role;

The child you will be supporting is in a Year 4 class and has recently started at the school after being in a Pupil Referral Unit for a period of time. Due to this, it is essential that you ensure the child has a smooth reintegration and build a strong rapport with him. The child has come from a very deprived and unstable home life and so needs plenty of pastoral support as well as strong behaviour management. Therefore, they are looking for someone who can act as a strong role model, who is consistent, resilient and confident.

What you'll need to succeed;

This position is perfect for a candidate with previous experience of supporting Challenging Behaviour and SEN and would like to challenge their experience further. You will also have excellent communication skills and have a firm understanding of the UK National Curriculum

What you'll get in return;

In return you will get an excellent support network, the opportunity to gain further responsibilities within your position and the opportunity to complete additional training such as Team Teach & Read Write Inc phonics training through Teaching Personnel.

All applicants to Teaching Personnel are subject to two reference checks and must have a valid DBS certificate before commencing work in school.
