Behaviour Support Worker – Make an Impact in Northampton
Location: Northampton
Hours: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15:30)
Environment: SEN Specialist Provision (KS3 & KS4)

Are you a resilient, positive, and dedicated individual ready to champion the success of vulnerable young people? Teaching Personnel is seeking a confident Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialized education team in Northampton.
This isn't just a job in a classroom—it’s a chance to be a mentor and a steady presence for students aged 11–16. You will help Key Stage 3 and 4 students navigate complex social, emotional, and academic hurdles, with the ultimate goal of helping them reintegrate into education or transition successfully into adulthood.
Your Responsibilities
- Empower Learning: Work 1:1 or in small groups to drive meaningful academic and emotional breakthroughs.
- Plan & Collaborate: Support teaching staff in crafting inclusive activities and developing individualized support plans.
- Behaviour Mentoring: Use positive reinforcement and proven de-escalation strategies (such as Team Teach) to manage challenging behaviours with empathy.
- Track Progress: Monitor and document student milestones, ensuring every "small win" is recognized and celebrated.
- Community Liaison: Act as a vital link between the school, families, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare.
Requirements
- Experience: A proven background supporting children or young adults with SEND or complex behavioural needs.
- Qualifications: Ideally Team Teach trained (or a genuine willingness to undergo training).
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a calm, professional "poker face" under pressure.
- Compliance: * An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Full Right to Work in the UK and a minimum of 3 months UK residency.
- Overseas criminal clearance where applicable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
