Teaching Personnel is offering an exiting role as a Behaviour Support Worker supporting a vulnerable and challenging pupil in a fantastic South Gloucestershire Primary School. As a Behaviour Support Worker/SEND Teaching Assistant you will have the pleasure of working in a really lovely primary school alongside an excellent team of staff. You will be supporting a year 4 student who has ADHD on a 1:1 basis. This child has some social and emotional problems such as attachment disorder and can therefore be quite challenging. The right candidate for this role would need to have strong behaviour management, be adaptable and flexible with their approaches and be able to effetively work with the child through any outbursts. Your day will be broken up with activities within the classroom as well as taking the child out of the class to work on activities tailored to the child. Although their will be a lot of 1:1 support outside the classroom the aim is to build the child’s confidence and social skills in order to allow the child to learn independently within the classroom.

The ideal candidate:

  • SEN experience is desired however not essential
  • Any experience working with children
  • Passionate about supporting children’s personal and educational development
  • Desire to work with primary aged children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
