Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

 

Location: Wakefield, WF2

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with challenging behaviour in an educational setting
  • Implement behaviour management strategies as directed by the SENCO or teacher
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work one-on-one with students to help them develop social and emotional skills
  • Record and report on student progress and behaviour to relevant staff members

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations

Desirable:

  • Team Teach or Positive handling training
  • Moving and Handling

Experience:

  • Experience in supporting individuals with behavioural difficulties
  • Experience working in an educational setting is desirable

Working Conditions:

  • This role will involve dealing with challenging behaviour and emotional situations

Successful applicants will be required to obtain an Enhanced Child DBS.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
