A specialist school in Bradford are seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to join their team. This is a temporary role for one term, with an opportunity to become a permanent member of staff. The school is an 11-19 provision catering for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and challenging behaviour.

Based in the Little Horton area, the building covers 4 levels and is modern and spacious in design. The school caters for 265 students aged 11-19 with a wide range of complex and individual needs, and comprises two elements: the main school, which houses Key Stage 3 and 4 student in the main campus building, and the Post 16 Vocational Centre, which provides outstanding specialist education and training aimed at providing pathways for life after school for Post 16 students.

Proud of its inclusive practice where every child’s needs are met, the school are seeking a Behaviour Support Worker who is able to support pupils with SEMH needs. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to implement individual and bespoke learning plans, and supporting pupils to regulate their emotions, de-escalating those at risk of reaching crisis and developing independent living skills.

You will be required to support a broad and balanced curriculum, highly differentiated to incorporate the needs of pupils.  You must be resilient, able to effectively manage pupil behavior and be responsive to the individual needs of pupils.

This is a full time role, on a temporary basis for 2 terms; although there may be an opportunity to apply for a permanent position.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
