Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant- Wigan
Behaviour Support Assistant vacancy at a high performing school in Wigan
Teaching Personnel are urgently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant for our partner school in Wigan. This is a full time position required to start immediately until the end of this academic year initially.
Due to additional funding being able at this time of the school year, our partner secondary school are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to specifically support behaviour within their pastoral department. This is to primarily ensure that their behaviour isn't impacting their learning or other pupils.
- Working directly under the Senior Lead for behaviour to ensure identified pupils are supported effectively.
- Dealing with any emotional or behavioural issues in an empathetic and competent manner.
- Working 1-to-1 with pupils in class and with small groups who are in the school's inclusion unit.
- Speaking to parents and carers to ensure there is a consistent approach in the pupil's life and boundaries are in place throughout.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual competent dealing with disengaged behaviour to make a big impact and be a positive influence in a pupil's life. The school are seeking someone with passion and resilience to help pupil's understand the consequences of negative behaviour on their learning and school life.
Our partner school is located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre which is a short drive away from Billinge and Springfield. Accessibility to the nearby motorways is excellent which means that it is easily commutable from Manchester and Liverpool also.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
