Learning Support Mentor

Here at Teaching Personnel we are looking to recruit Behaviour Learning Mentors for a behaviour school we work closely with, in Reading. The school thrives on their high quality education provided to the children in their setting. The role is supporting pupils on a 1:1/small group basis.

The school is looking for someone who is confident, organised, who can use their own initiative to pick up from the hand over and take responsibility in supporting challenging pupils and help them hit development targets.

Experience is not essential but is beneficial, if you have previously worked as a Support Worker, Youth Worker, Sport Coach or Care Worker we would love to hear from you.

As a Learning Support Mentor you will typically need to:

• Follow instructions from Teachers in order to support effectively in the class room
• Adhere to professional practice standards and legislation, including confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion policies
• Ensure you're up-to-date on your knowledge of local service provision for appropriate signposting and referrals
• Support students on 1:1, adapting your approach on a case by case basis in order to engage students effectively
• Help children with learning and development
• Coach, mentor and motivate children to understand the benefits of relevant activities

This position is full time and available for an immediate start, which requires you to have a current DBS in child workforce only and to be registered with the update service.
