Are you looking for a role supporting vulnerable children?

Have you got experience supporting children with behavioural challenges? We may have your perfect role!

You may have experience in a Primary setting, a Youth Work Programme, Sports Coaching or in another capacity. We are looking for patient and resilient staff members to support a Y4 child in a primary setting who is expressing challenging behaviour or struggling to cope in a classroom environment. We are representing a primary school in the S25 area who are looking for someone who can support their new behaviour policy with this child. The school has average transport links, but access to a car would be beneficial. The school are in a position to offer either full or part time work, depending on your availability.

We are looking for someone who has experience supporting children with needs such as SEMH, ASC, BESD, ADHD and PDA. The ideal candidate will be Team Teach trained (but we can provide this training) and have experience delivering Nurture interventions. There are many children who find school a challenge - working in a whole class or following routines. Many children can be unsettled and express challenging behaviour - we are looking for someone with experience managing children on a 1-2-1 basis. You will be expected to work with a child who is expressing challenging behaviour and who needs additional support in school. You will need to act as a role model and mentor to child who is finding the school environment a challenge, this will include delivering structured activities and learning programmes to support the pupil in building relationships and will need to take into account pupil learning styles and positive behaviour management. As a 'behaviour buddy' you will need to challenge and motivate children in your care, to reinforce self-esteem and encourage them to take part in whole class activities in a positive manner. You may be involved in improving their attendance in school, and will work with other members of staff to create a consistent behaviour plan for the child that you are supporting.

Our Ideal Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Minimum of NVQ L2 or equivalent
  • Good Literacy, Numeracy and communication skills (A - C, GCSE Levels)
  • Recent experience in a school/PRU/Youth Work/Coaching setting
  • Team Teach/MAPA qualification - or willing to train
  • Ability to create an inclusive environment
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently and as part of a team
  • Patient, resilient and calm manner

In turn, Teaching Personnel can offer you;

  • Ongoing development through our unrivalled CPD Academy
  • A dedicated consultant who will work for you
  • Support with interviews to find your ideal position
  • Work in schools exclusive to Teaching Personnel
  • Full and Part Time work to fit around your existing commitments
  • Experience in a range of settings
