Behaviour Support

Blackburn Primary School

Child with oppositional behaviour requires 1:1 support

Child can be very aggressive and verbally abusive towards staff

The School-

Large Blackburn Primary School, located close to the town centre and good transport links

The school is currently graded GOOD by Ofsted and will not be re-inspected for another 2 years

The SLT are very supportive and will ensure any new member of staff is well inducted and given all the tools to do well in the role.

The SENCO in school is not classroom based and will use her time to give additional advice and support around children with special educational needs.

The school is located in a mixed catchment area with the majority of children arriving under the age expected levels.

The school is well known in the Blackburn area as the Head teacher has supported a number of new Head teachers.

The Child-

The child is currently working in a LKS2 class

The child struggles with behaviour as well as building relationships with children and staff in school

The child does have additional funding through the Local Authority to ensure they receive additional support.

The child will stay in school with 1:1 support unless their needs can not be met

The supporting role will be mainly for behaviour and disruption to the other children in class. You will be expected to use a range of behaviour strategies and at times the child will be required to work from a nurture room.

The parents of the child are very supportive and will also use strategies consistently at home.

How to apply-

The role will begin on the 23rd April 2019 and continue indefinitely, five days a week.

You will need to have an in date DBS and two recent references from your most relevant work place.

You will be paid every week on a Friday for the week's work you have completed. (PAYE-Pay As You Earn).
