Behaviour Support - Education Provision

One of our schools in the Salford area are looks for a teaching assistant and behaviour mentor to support young children with SEMH needs in an education provision.
The children are currently not part of mainstream education, be that due to exclusion or an inability to cope with the environment. The overall goal of the provision is to eventually return the students to mainstream school after giving them the support necessary for them to overcome their difficulties.

The role of TA and mentor will include supporting the children in the classroom; mainly in small groups as they learn the essential subjects of the curriculum, for example maths and English. The students will need extra attention to not become distracted, so a candidate with experience with de-escalation training would be ideal.
You will also work as a 1:1 mentor, supporting their social and emotional needs and acting as an advisor on how to help them overcome their difficulties and move forward. The ideal candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic but also have a resilient and calm personality when reacting to difficult situations.

This role would be perfect for graduates of Social care, youth and community and/ or Psychology and will give invaluable experience to build a strong career in this area.

Teaching Personnel are able to offer courses for registered candidates in areas like Team-Teach and Safeguarding, which would be essential skills for this role.
