Behaviour Support Assistant - Salford

Do you want to support young people at risk of being withdrawn from mainstream education or that may display challenging behaviour?

Our partner school in Salford require a Behaviour Support Assistant to support a student that is joining in the school in September 2019. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates that have experience of working alongside young people in other capacities to further their careers with a role in education.

  • Full time Behaviour Support Assistant required from September 2019
  • Supporting a student with behaviour complexities
  • 'Good' school in Salford
  • Working alongside experienced and dedicated professionals within SEN department
  • Opportunities to complete CPD courses
  • Earn up to £1300 per month

Our partner school which is located in the Salford Quays area of Salford, moved to a new building in September 2012, and was graded 'Good' by Ofsted in their most recent inspection in 2016. Just a short drive from Manchester city centre, this mixed 11-16 academy is accessible from a range of locations across Greater Manchester, and is also situated across from a Metrolink station. Last year the school posted a positive Progress 8 score which was in line with the national average, and in September they are increasing their intake of students as they look to expand and improve even further.

The school would like a Behaviour Support Assistant to support one of their students on a 1:1 basis in order to improve both their behaviour and attainment. The student is at risk of being withdrawn from mainstream education, and the school wants to put alternative provisions in place to prevent this. The role will involve supporting the student both in and out of lessons, as well as around the school in other capacities including social times. Being a positive influence and acting as a role model is vital to this role, and therefore any experience of working with young people outside of education is advantageous, including sports coaches and youth workers.

If you would like to apply for this post as a Behaviour Support Assistant, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
