Working on behalf of my work force partner school's, I am starting an immediate search for 2 Behaviour Support Workers who will be used for daily supply across the BD3 and BD7 area of Bradford. This is a full time behaviour support role - with the option of going permanent for the right Behaviour Support Worker
The school continues to provide mainstream and alternative education and youth work initiatives for young people aged 11-16 who struggle to achieve within more conventional education settings. The school delivers a full time curriculum which includes Functional Skills Maths and English, Cultural development and life skills alongside site specific, vocational qualifications including Land Based Studies, Animal Care, Creative Media Production and Sport and Active Leisure.
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will be working with individual or small groups of young people to support access to learning activities within the classroom. As many of the subjects studied also include practical work, you will also be required to give hands on assistance outside of the classroom which may include working with animals within the city farm.
To be considered for the Behaviour Support Worker role you should have:
- A minimum of 3 months’ experience working within SEMH
- The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.
- Resilience of dealing with complex situations that arise on a day to day basis
- Ideally you will be Team Teach trained however we have the option to be able to offer this training at a greatly reduced cost
This is a demanding role, working with young people who can display very challenging behaviour. You must be confident in dealing with the social and emotional issues at the heart of disengagement with mainstream schooling whilst ensuring that students’ educational needs are met. We welcome applications from experienced Behaviour Support Workers, as well as those with a background in Youth Work, Social Work or Sports Coaching.
