Behaviour Support Assistant

A Pupil Referral Unit in Sherborne are looking for an exceptional Teaching Assistant to start full time from September, who can work alongside the teaching staff and deliver 1:1 when appropriate across all secondary Key Stages.

The school is a short stay alternative provision for students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education, for students who may be at risk of permanent exclusions (dual registered), students who have specific medical needs and students who need SEND support or assessments from Years 7-11

The successful candidate:

• will have excellent literacy skills
• will have excellent IT skills
• will contribute towards the whole school and the well-being of all who attend
• will be able to plan and deliver interventions across the school
• will be confident in their approach to behaviour management
• have experience of working with children with SEND/SEMH/challenging behaviour
• will have high expectations about raising standards across the school
• will be flexible and innovative in their approach
• experience of working within an SEN setting would be desirable
