Job description

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in Winsford.

This is a great opportunity for an individual with a background in SEN/SEMH or an experienced Teaching Assistant who is looking for a new and exciting role.

About the role:

  • Start Date: 1st September
  • Ongoing/long-term
  • Opportunity to earn £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional behavioural, emotional, and social needs. You will collaborate with SENCO and class teachers to create and implement individualised learning plans, ensuring the curriculum is accessible to all learning needs. Your role will be vital in helping children access learning, manage their emotions, and develop positive behaviour strategies.

What we’re looking for:

  • Has experience working with children with behavioural and/or emotional needs (in a school, youth work, or care setting)
  • Remains calm under pressure and has excellent interpersonal skills
  • Is resilient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting vulnerable children
  • Understands safeguarding and the importance of child wellbeing
  • Has (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
