About the Role: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be an integral part of our team, providing essential support to students aged 11-16 who have been permanently removed from mainstream schools. Your role will involve working closely with students who may exhibit challenging behaviour, non-attendance issues, self-harm tendencies, or have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in their lives by offering guidance, encouragement, and assisting them in overcoming obstacles to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students in both academic and social settings.
  • Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviour and promote positive outcomes.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Establishing rapport with students to build trust and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training (e.g., Team Teach, SEN training) will be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
