About the School: Our PRU caters to secondary-aged children who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and face various challenges, including behavioural issues, non-attendance, or self-harm. At our school, we provide a supportive and nurturing environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Position Details:

  • Role: Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Location: Eastleigh
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • Contract: Permanent, with a probation period

Responsibilities: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' social, emotional, and academic development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with challenging behaviours.
  • Assisting with the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a positive learning environment.
  • Building rapport and establishing trust with students to facilitate their engagement and progress.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with behavioural challenges preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
