Behavioural Support Assistant

A specialist provision in Preston (PR4) are looking to hire a behaviour support assistant for a pupil who can display challenging behaviours. This is a small school supporting pupils aged 5-12 with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). The provision is a high-pressured environment, so you must be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, ensuring all protocols and policies are still being adhered to throughout, putting the needs of your pupils first. The provision is seeking someone who can start work as soon as possible however there is also the opportunity for this position to start in September 2023.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
  • Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting pupils’ progress.
  • Support positive behaviour and concentration levels of the children and adapt own behaviour and responses.
  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and well-being through a whole Day Curriculum.
  • Follow the students unique EHC plans.

This role is full-time hours Monday – Friday (8:30-3:30). This competitive hourly rate is £11.85-£12.56. The school ideally would like someone with experience in the care/support/ education system however this is not essential. No relevant qualifications to education are required to be successful.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
