Behaviour Support Assistant Opportunity in Plymouth

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join one of our SEN schools in the Plymouth area. This full-time role runs from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, during term time only, starting in September 2024 and continuing until the end of the academic year. This is an excellent chance to gain valuable experience in an educational setting, working with children who have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

Position: Behaviour Support Assistant

Pay: £85 - £90 per day, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children’s classroom learning and activities, promoting inclusion throughout the school
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils, providing individual or classroom-based support
  • Assist pupils in both academic and social capacities
  • Ensure the needs outlined in pupils' EHCPs are met

Desirable Skills:

  • Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Positive and motivating attitude
  • Good level of Maths and English
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Application Process: To work with Teaching Personnel, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance is provided if you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £38 plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
