SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Risca

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30-15:30

Pay: £77 per day

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and successful primary school based in Risca. The head teacher is looking for an educator who is passionate, enthusiastic, creative, and flexible. The successful educator will be nurturing and caring and be supportive to their social and emotional difficulties.

The role will require supporting children who have social and emotional difficulties which often leads to behavioural challenges. Throughout this role you will be required to support a pupil on 1:1 basis by developing their confidence and increase their social and emotional needs. This will consist of activities based around learning development which will be set by the class teacher. However, the school are very supportive of your own development so would be encouraged to add your own twist.

The successful educator will:

  • Build excellent rapport with pupils and the staff
  • Be enthusiastic, motivated, caring, and able to nurture children to achieve their potential
  • Committed team player and role model to all children
  • Able to demonstrate and promote excellence, equality and high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • Committed to their own professional learning and development
  • Able to bring passion, energy, enthusiasm and be driven to fulfill the role to the best of their ability
  • Encourage the pupil to interact with all pupils across the classroom to support their social skills
  • Have the ability to deescalate situations should they arise (support will be provided by other Teaching Assistants within the classroom)

Essential Requirements:

  • Child only DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council
  • Able to provide 2 professional based references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
