Behaviour Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside an Ofsted graded “Good” Pupil SEN school in Bedford, who are recently looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant.

Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants will work alongside a consistent teacher in the classroom and key school staff to support and encourage pupils to take charge of their lives and their learning.

Your role would include undertaking structured learning activities, where core subjects are taught in the morning and practical activities are taught in the afternoon to maintain higher engagement within the learning environment. Your role will include teaching in small groups and occasionally on a 1-2-1 basis and adapting to varied learning styles.

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant in a Pupil Referral Unit, you would be required to encourage a holistic and inspiring environment where pupils are supported to take charge of their learning, and focus on promoting British values of tolerance and democracy. The role will be working with pupils aged 11-16 that have various social, emotional and mental health needs who are unable to attend mainstream schools.

-          Experience of working with challenging behaviour (desirable)

-          High levels of resilience

-          Experience of working with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs either in the Care industry or Education industry
