Behaviour Mentor - Radcliffe, Bury (M26) primary school
A large Bury primary school situated in a socially deprived area of Radcliffe, Bury is currently looking for a teaching assistant with experience working with challenging behaviour to work in a Year 5 class. The school has a high catchment area for children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. Because of this, the primary school requires a strong behaviour mentor with experience working with hard to reach children in a school setting or in a support role outside of school.
The Year 5 class has a number of young girls with challenging behaviour and the Head teacher is looking for a strong and resilient teaching assistant to support the teacher and engage the pupils.
The role of Behaviour Mentor will incorporate delivering short intervention strategies outside of the class room to improve behaviour whilst implementing the school behaviour policy and monitoring progress. You will work directly with the schools SEN Co-ordinator and Inclusion Manager, alongside class teachers to ensure all pupils are able to access learning and display positive behaviour.
- Experience working with challenging behaviour is essential
- Supporting students inside the classroom and in the schools nurture unit.
