Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking Behaviour Mentors to work in a small alternative provision of no more than 20 students who present with challenging behaviour and SEMH in the NG6 area of Nottingham.

The provision caters for students between the ages of 10 - 18 who have left mainstream provision for a variety of reasons including exclusion. They seek an individual who can go with the flow and be able to offer one to one support as well as assist with the smooth running of small groups of teaching.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:-

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children and young people either in education or health care settings.
  • Confidence to work on your own initiative, as well as contributing to a team
  • Good understanding of the National Curriculum at a primary and/or secondary level
  • Confident to manage challenging behaviour and re-engage students who are disaffected and not currently engaged in their education
  • Be able to participate in any extra-curricular activities required

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
