We are currently working with a Secondary PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) In the Tameside area who are looking for behaviour focused Teaching Assistants to support students in the classroom.

The school supports students at key stage 2 + 3 for a short stay, to assist them in developing their social and emotional skills and fill any gaps in their education with aspirations to return to mainstream education.
Many of the students suffer with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and some learning disabilities, which in turn has caused challenging behaviour and an inability to cope in a traditional school.

You

As a Teaching Assistant, you may support one student or a small group, assisting them with the curriculum and encouraging positive social interaction. You are expected to help manage behaviour and mentor the students on how to manage themselves appropriately, whilst having a supportive and caring demeanour so they feel secure and listened to by their support staff.

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm.

Please be aware it is essential for all applicants to have a child only enhanced DBS which is registered to the update service, or be willing to apply for one.
