Behaviour mentor/learning support assistant role available to start after October half term 2019 in all age SEN school in Woodford, working with young children who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
If you think you can motivate and inspire young children who have already struggled to cope in mainstream education due to their behavioural and mental health difficulties, this could be the perfect job opportunity for you.
- Potential to become a permanent role
- Work full time 08:30am – 15:30pm Monday to Friday during term time
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students across all years who have behavioural difficulties and need extra guidance
- Act as a role model and promote positive behaviour – encourage change and help them to shape their lives for the better
- Follow different subjects of the national curriculum – you will need to be able to support English and Maths up to Asdan level for this class
- Acknowledge achievement, celebrate successes and essentially prepare students for secondary school and then life after school
- Previous experience of working in a PRU, youth work, being Team Teach trained or having any other form of restraint training is highly desirable
