Teaching Assistants – SEBD Support (KS3/KS4) | Swansea & Neath | Supply Work
Via Teaching Personnel

Are you passionate about making a difference in young people's lives? Do you have experience or transferable skills that equip you to support children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD), trauma, or school exclusion?

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across Swansea and Neath. You will be supporting pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4, often in alternative provision or PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) settings.


The Role:

  • Support students who have experienced trauma, exclusion, or exhibit challenging behaviour.

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to re-engage learners with education.

  • Foster positive relationships to build trust and resilience.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff and pastoral teams across multiple sites.


Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with young people with SEBD, behavioural needs, or mental health challenges.

  • Background in youth work, sports coaching, or mentoring highly desirable.

  • Resilient, patient, and confident in de-escalation and behaviour management.

  • Flexibility to travel between schools – a driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
