Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEND provision which is seeking support worker to work with children living in foster care or children's homes on a full time basis. The role will commence as soon as possible in preparation for the new academic year.
The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with students across Key Stages 1 and 2, the students are vulnerable children in need of extra support and guidance with their English, Maths and Science learning. The main element of the role will be helping the students to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time to maximise learning. You will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of staff to manage and track pupil's behaviour and learning. You will be supporting students who are living in foster care or within a children's home, they may display social, emotional and mental health difficulties who may display behaviour such as social anxiety or ADHD.
Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour. The client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work and counselling. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people, registration with Teaching Personnel will provide you will access to unique CPD opportunities, including an upcoming Team Teach training course which will highly benefit you in this role. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.
Teaching Personnel can offer support workers competitive pay rates of up to £65 per day, for the right candidate longer term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. This role will commence as soon as possible, working 5 days a week including but not limited to school hours.
