Do you want to work with with most vulnerable children in the community?

With children who need the most help and you can make a real difference?

Can you empathise with the root causes of issues yet have boundaries and set clear expectations?

Are you confident, patient and above all, committed?

Teaching Personnel has been working with a school in Brislington for a number of years but only recently it has opened a new unit within its mainstream school, specialising in SEMH.

SEMH mean Social, Emotional and Mental Health. This is not a neurological condition such as autism or learning difficulties. SEMH is social. It could be from a tumultuous home life, a bereavement or a lack of role models that have caused the pupil to misbehave.

You will need to build a relationship with the pupil, set boundaries and expectations, be assertive and calm and above all be committed. The last thing these pupils need is change in their support.

Here are the specifics

  • You work 8:30 - 3:30, Monday to Friday
  • This role is for at least two terms
  • The role will start either immediately, however the school will wait until January for the right person
  • You will be paid £554 to £65 dependent on experience
  • If this works well for both parties there is an option to go onto a school contract!

You do not need any qualifications except GSCEs A - C in Maths and English. Any form of behaviour management training would be advantageous but not essential.

YOU MUST either have worked in Education or worked outside of education but in a special needs capacity. Whether this is with children or adults, it doesn't matter.

PLEASE CALL ASAP if interested, I look forward to hearing from you!
