Behaviour and Engagement Co-ordinator
Locations - Newcastle & Northumberland
Employment Term- Temp to perm
Employment Type-Full Time
Contracted Hours-8:30 till 16:00
Teaching Personnel have a great opportunity to work with a Alternative provision school in Newcastle.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a culture of positive behaviour and support staff with student engagement
- Individual mentoring of students regarding behaviour and leading the staff team to have clear structured intervention plans
- Visible presence in class and around the site to assist staff with behaviour and to create a positive learning environment
- Take the lead on positive points and rewards system
- Lead the schools community outreach program through engagement projects, work experience opportunities and character development
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Experience of leading in pastoral areas within education
- Experience of leading behavioural expectations of student provisions
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience working with children and young people in an educational setting
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding, GDPR)
- Familiarity with zones of regulation or similar interventions
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Use of assistive technology/adaptive equipment
- Child centred and inclusive approach
- Creative and adaptable in problem-solving

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
