Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant

Teaching personnel is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who has knowledge or previous experience in working with individuals with Autism. This particular school is an Autism specialist school that caters for children aged between 7-19 years old and is a positive and vibrant learning community that aims to develop academic abilities, confidence and independence. Your focus as a Teaching Assistant will be to support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups and provide a secure and exciting learning environment that allows pupils to receive educational, social and emotional development. This is a great opportunity to gain invaluable classroom experience that can start your career into education.  

A successful Teaching Assistant…..

  • Experience working with individuals with Autism
  • Patience, empathy and enthusiasm
  • Demonstrate effective communication
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
  • A passion or interest in working in a SEN setting
  • Own means of transport is essential unless living in the Pilning area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
