This is a long-term, temporary to permanent position.
Our well-established, welcoming partner school is independent with a good reputation and supports pupils aged 5-16 years with challenging behaviour and Autism. Some of the pupils have a history of placement breakdowns. The school aims to re-engage these pupils and support them through their education.
Covering the core curriculum, you will be reporting to the Head teacher and teaching KS3 Maths, English, Science, Vocational and Life Skills to a class size of six pupils. The role will also involve some off-site learning, which you will be required to attend. Support is provided in the form of two LSA’s in the classroom and an additional five team members within the department.
The ideal candidate will be:
Experienced teaching and working with SEN pupils
Good sense of humour
Engaging
You do not need to be a qualified teacher to apply for this role; however you must have experience of teaching SEN pupils with challenging behaviour.
