Autism 1:1 learning support assistant South Croydon SEN School

Looking for a full time, long term teaching assistant position?

Have SEN experience?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic primary school in South Croydon. This SEN school caters for children with mixed, complex needs including verbal and non-verbal autism. They are looking for a full time teaching assistant to support a year 2 class, starting after Easter. Experience of working as a teaching assistant within a classroom setting is essential, and any 1:1 experience of supporting autism or ADHD is desirable.

Trials for this position are welcomed by the school and will take place in the first week back after Easter. If you would like to be considered for trial, you must have the following:

  • Experience of working with children
  • Ability to use (or at least a basic knowledge of) PECs and/or Makaton
  • Willing to provide personal care
  • Excellent references from two previous employers or course tutors
  • An enhanced childcare DBS on the update service - or be willing to make a new application straight away
  • Full time availability 8:30am - 3:30pm during term time
  • Any further relevant training or qualifications are desirable

Teaching Personnel are committed to the professional development of both our teaching and support staff. We offer CPD courses that are either free or at a reduced cost and these can be booked once you are registered and working for us.

We also offer a referral bonus of £50 if you recommend another teaching assistant, who then subsequently registers with us and works for us.
