Autism classroom support teaching assistant

Opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team supporting secondary school and post 16 children who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate autism.

I am working with a special needs school based in Redbridge that caters solely for children who are on the autistic spectrum. They are looking for a teaching assistant to join their team after the October half term on a full time basis. You will work term time only, and the hours are 08:30am – 15:30pm.

This role would suit you if you have any of the following:

  • Experience working with children or adults who have autism
  • Psychology degree
  • Mental health background
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a calm learning environment
  • Full time availability to work as a teaching assistant in Redbridge

This school can offer:

  • Small class size – there is a maximum of 6 students in the class at all times
  • You will be entitled to attend all CPD training sessions with the full staff body
  • The SLT are supportive and will help you to settle in to your new role
  • There will be opportunities throughout the year to apply for a permanent position at this school
  • Big staff car park
  • Easy access by train and bus
  • Large outdoor areas which can be used for outdoor learning
  • GBP60-GBP85 per day, dependent on experience

Whilst employed by Teaching Personnel you will receive a competitive daily pay rate and we will also pay a national insurance and pension contribution for you – we do not use an umbrella company. You can also take advantage of our referral bonus scheme – refer a friend and receive GBP50 after they have started working for Teaching Personnel.
