ASD Teaching Assistant

  • Start date September 2019
  • Full time role, term time only
  • Competitive salary based on experience (up to £1350+ per month)
  • Supporting students on the Autistic Spectrum in a vibrant inner city school.

Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity for an ASD Teaching Assistant to join our client school in central Manchester.

The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will be required to join our client school in September 2019 and will be required for ongoing support throughout the academic year.

The successful candidate will join our client schools specialist secondary resourced provision to support students who are on the Autism Spectrum. Students in the unit will have a bespoke programme to suit their needs and the successful candidate will work alongside the school SENCO to provide tailored support to students. We are looking for an Autism specialist who is able to help students achieve the goal of accessing mainstream lessons.

The role will include working 1:1 with students in the provision as well as providing classroom support. Some targeted interventions such as art therapy, speech and language therapy may also be included. Due to nature of this role, we require a Teaching Assistant with background experience of delivering ASD support to students aged 11-16.

Our client school is located in central Manchester and has over 1000 pupils on roll. The school has an inner city catchment area providing education for a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds. Due to its inner city location, the school has excellent connections to universities, employers and a number of fantastic opportunities. This is an exciting time to join our client school as it embarks on its journey towards becoming an Outstanding school. The school has a large state-of-the-art building and a large car park accessible for all staff members.
