Teaching Personnel are currently working with a mainstream primary school in The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham who are seeking a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their school for an immediate start.
About the role
Your role will be to support a wonderful child in Reception class on a 1:1 basis. The child has Autism, associated behavioural difficulties and Speech-Language Difficulties, therefore, struggles to communicate verbally. You will be using Makaton and PECS to communicate for some of the time. The child is verbal but uses more of repeat language rather than full sentences. The child does suffer from learning difficulties and you will need to be able to differentiate tasks given by the class teacher. You will be working with a team of other 1:1 SEN LSA's as the school itself has almost 10% of their students with some form of additional learning needs.
Ideal Candidate
You will have previous experience working with Autism and associated behavioural difficulties. You will have certificates or strong experience working with either Makaton or PECS (Picture Exchange Communication Systems). You will be very confident with behaviour management and be able to think on your feet!
Salary and Benefits
Depending on experience and qualifications.

The school are looking for an immediate start and want to have candidates in for trials as soon as possible. If you fit the above criteria please send your updated CV to matthew.dawson@teachingpersonnel.com or give Matt a call on 02075933088.
